As we all know, a friend in need is a friend indeed. A harmonious friendship is as necessary as the air around us. Friends bring the distance between people nearer. Friends encourage us to cheer up when we face failure or distress. All in all, friendship is an indispensable part of our life.
Owing to the importance of harmonious relationships, we should think about how we can do to improve our friendships. I think that the quality of generosity is what good friends need. What else? Smiles, like food, can bring warmth to others. The reason why smiles have such a large effect is that they demonstrate our friendliness.
When you are so angry that you are out of control, please calm down and don’t let your anger do any harm.
We all know a story similar to this: Two Men and a Bear. In the forest, when a bear attacked them, the thinner man quickly climbed up to the top of a tree and forgot his promise to the fatter guy, who could not climb the tree, about helping each other when in danger. Luckily, the fatter man saved himself. The fatter mat was very disappointed, and when they got together again, he said to the thinner man, "You are not my real friend. Only a friend in need is a friend indeed". This is a very familiar story. It illustrates to us what a friend should be like. It is, however, just a story.
I would like to tell you something about myself, my true feel-ings. When I was in Senior One, I had great difficulty in learning science subjects. I was unable to understand the teacher and 1 could not do the exercises or the homework. I believed that I was stupid and could not learn anything. The sky was gray and the grass was yellow those days. Everything was a mess in my brain. My classmate, a good student, whom I only considered as one of the classmates before, came to me with a smile. She told me that if I needed help, she would like to help me. As she was also very busy with her studies,I asked myself, "Could she help me? "Sev-eral days later, I knew the answer. Yes, she could. She did as much as she could. She made time every day to help me solve the problems and showed me many good ways to study science. Her patience and earnest nature touched me deeply. I worked very hard and my progress was reflected in my examination result. I appreciated her help very much and wanted to thank her. When I looked at her, once again she smiled at me with an encouraging and congratulatory look. At that moment I understood that a true friend should be like this.
Nowadays, it seems that there are many ways of expressing friendship. Our lives are generally better. People now have more time to consider and be more concerned about their lives. Money, which is considered by many to be of prime importance, makes it difficult to find true friendship. Is friendship only greeting each other on meeting? Is friendship only drinking and eating together? Is friendship only lending money to each other? No, a friend Should be a person you trust and understand. A friend should be a person who tastes happiness and bitterness with you. A friend should be a person who can give you confidence and encouragement.
Though everything has changed, and friendship has scores of definitions, I still believe, and I will believe forever that "A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed".

Truly， marks functions cannot be underestimated. In terms of test in ourstudy， marks are fair and real. That is the reason why we say "Everyone is equalbefore marks. "
However， I think marks are the sole standard to judge the success orfailure of students in exams. Sometimes， marks more than ten or less than one ortwo in our exams comparing with others mean not everything. The success orfailure in exams will be influenced by experience on the spot and the examinee’shealth etc. Once in a while one cannot fail in exams. " Success or failure iscommon sense for military. " I think everyone is familiar with the famoussaying. Don’t you think such will be the case with our study? In exams， onecannot be " never-defeated general" . But his teaching result is much lessthan that of the one who just graduated from a not-well-renowned college. Whenlecturing， the teacher only repeated what the text-books says， which was verydull so the his students’ interest in learning was not aroused. His teaching wasshort of unity of teaching and learning. At present there is a fact that we knowa few brilliant and top college graduates are not qualified for their posts. Thereason for it may be lack of the ability to combine knowledge learnt from bookswith pragmatics in their work. Students of this kind will be successful in everyexam but they will be able to use freely their knowledge in their posts. Don’tyou think it waste training such persons for the country?
To sum up from the above， I can say marks are not absolutely authoritativefor some. If we neglect training and developing the students’ ability andcompetence and if we only seek for the high marks， we will be absolutely wrong.We should take an objective attitude towards the marks. Neither should weneglect them nor should we overvalue them like a God.

There is no doubt that a goal is very important in our life. Now I want to tell you a true story in my school life. I have learned a lot from it.
I never forget last year’s school sports meeting. 1500-meter race was one of the most exciting. Before the race, my best friend XiaoShan had a goal to be No. 1. As a matter a fact, she is not so strong, but she is a sunny girl. She is active and likes doing sports. What’s more, she tries her best to achieve the goal, but I wonder if she is able to be the champion. There were eight players in the race. On the first lap, she was in the sixth place; On the second lap, the took the fourth place, she went on running and she ran toward her goal, the goal in her mind, Look! On the last lap, she was the first to pass the finishing line, she was the winner. Oh, great! She made it! Congratulations!
At that time, I knew a goal was so necessary and important. I made a decision : “I want to take part in the English Speaking Competition held in my school. What’s more, I will try my best to be No.1 in the competition as my best friend XiaoShan did in sports meet. ” I am sure of it. I still remembered what my English teacher said to us. Though I can do well in my English written exams, however, to be honest, I am a little afraid to speak English in public. I have the same situation like all the teenagers. I like Jay, but my mother says the songs of him sound too jumbled. And I like wearing jeans, because many girls in our school wear jeans. And they look so beautiful. But my mother says, they’re really smart, but it doesn’t fit you, your main work is study. I have no words. One day, I was surfing on the internet, my parents showed their disapproval to me.
In fact, there are always many things difficult to judge whether they are right or not. Can we say that classical music is absolutely better than rock? Can we say that jeans are better than sport trousers? What is more, Surfing on the Internet does not mean that we are going to overlook our lessons. But many parents make their children accept their points of view on everything, for they want to protect us from making any mistakes.
